Representative of Eastland Escrows want to remind you that July 1, 2013, was the official date that witnessed a historic merger between the Department of Corporations and the Department of Financial Institutions. Due to the merger, the new department is now called the Department of Business Oversight (www.dbo.ca.gov).
Your business communications need to reflect the correct department names. If you are subject to jurisdiction under the Department of Corporations, make sure you use the new terminology for all future communications. Usage of the correct department names means less confusion in the workplace and will ensure that the correct departments receive your business correspondence.
In the future, use the terms “Commissioner of Business Oversight” and the “Department of Business Oversight.” The old terminology that referred to the “Commissioner of Corporations” and “Department of Corporations” is no longer in effect. All advertisements and documents need to reflect the new department names as of August 15, 2013.
If you have any concerns or questions about the merger, representatives of Eastland Escrows advises you to contact Karen Fong, karen.fong@dbo.ca.go, at the Department of Business Oversight. For more information about the merger and how it affects your business in the Covina, California, area, please contact Eastland Escrows.
