Quick Hacks to Motivate Yourself

Need a gentle push in the right direction? Here’s how to kick start your motivation.

Whether you’re going through a lazy slump or don’t know where to start with a certain project, many of us can feel less than motivated at inopportune times. Sometimes, all we need to do is get focused and organized, and suddenly our creative juices start flowing.

If you need a little motivation to get you going, here are some quick hacks to do just that.

Focus solely on one or two things.

If you have a page and a half of stuff to do by the end of today, even looking at the list can cause stress and apprehension. Having a whole lot to do in one day is only setting you up for failure. Be productive by solely focusing on one or two tasks for the day.

Get moving.

Exercise is probably the last thing that you want to do – but do it anyway! When you exercise, endorphins are released, causing you to feel a sense of happiness. Plus, while you exercise, your brain activates, which helps you to find answers to your problems that you hadn’t thought of before. It’s hard to be lazy when you have more momentum.

Give yourself time to relax.

Taking some time to rest and relax serves a huge purpose to your physical and mental state of being. Whether you get a full night’s sleep, make time to read your favorite book, or treat yourself to a massage, always make sure that your mind and body is ready to function at the best.

Be organized.

The best way to tackle any task, motivated or lazy, is to get organized. Hash out your thoughts into a notebook and make lists. When everything is clear in front of you, it’s easier to organize your thoughts. Also, cleaning your work area is a great way to create an atmosphere of productivity!
